Hi, How Can We Help You?

School Holiday Drama

School Holiday Drama

It is the start of the school holidays, and of course with school holidays comes the drama. Scraped knees, temper tantrums, sibling squabbles and last but not least the cost of entertaining your children for a full 6 weeks. So how can we cope with the next 6 weeks?

We know that Bradgelina are currently engaged in a battle within the Courts, spending thousands of pounds battling over their children. However, for those of us that cannot afford such luxuries the six weeks holidays juggling contact and the expense can be a nightmare.

Whether it be contact you wish to obtain, or alternatively whether or not you want your children to live with you there are multiple options available to you before making an application to Court. Firstly, you can negotiate through solicitors and come to an agreement that suits everybody’s needs, we can advise you of how such an agreement can be made legally binding.

Alternatively, mediation can be considered. There is also funding available for mediation, we can refer you out to an independent mediation service if required. Mediation consists of you attending for an initial meeting alone to assess whether your case is appropriate for the mediation process. Thereafter the mother/father of your children will attend for the same session. After this the joint mediation process will begin. Again, should you come to an agreement we can once more advise you of how we can make this legally binding.

If none of the above is working for you then in certain cases we can obtain legal aid on your behalf, for the Court process, providing that you meet the following criteria:

  1. Victim of Domestic Abuse within the last 5 years;
  2. There are significant child protections concerns;

  1. You are on either, Income Support, Income Based ESA/JSA;
  2. Or, you have a low income.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for an over the phone assessment, providing that you have the following to hand:

  1. Details of your benefits;
  2. Wage slips;
  3. Details of rent/nursery fees;
  4. 3 months bank statements for each and every account that you have;
  5. Approximate values of any assets you own such as a property/car etc.

We will also require the above evidence for your partner if you are living together.

Alternatively, if legal aid is not available to you, we offer competitive fixed fee packages so that you are able to manage your costs.

Don’t suffer in silence over the summer holidays, contact us so that we may make this stressful time that little bit easier.
