Have you heard of the new solicitor transparency rules ? The rules come into effect for Solicitors in December 2018. Not the most exciting thing to think about this Christmas but the aim of the new Transparency Rules is to make sure consumers have the information they need to make an informed choice of legal services provider, including understanding what the costs may be.
This means that when you instruct a solicitor to deal with a case, for example an excess alcohol matter, you will know how much it is going to cost. Solicitors can no longer hide their fees in an elaborate, costly fee structure. At Levins we are always up front about our costs and have created a simple menu of our costs
Keeping a driving licence valuable. So valuable that some solicitors have inflated fees as they know a client will pay out of desperation. Are these firms discussing the case with the client before being instructed ? Before you pay out, you need to know if there is any change of winning. Unfortunately, sometimes there is no chance of success. We will tell you that upfront and not string you along to make fees. We provide an excellent service at a reasonable price.
