We mainly act for employees but we have also successfully represented employers in the employment tribunal. Prevention is better than cure, so we are happy to provide advice to head off a potential problem.
To succeed in an employment tribunal claim, you need a solicitor with an eye for detail and the ability to present your case in the most favourable light. As an experienced advocate, Jon knows the evidence you will need to persuade the tribunal. Jon accepts instructions from both employers and employees. Some of the more complex cases in which Jon has recently been successful include:
- Breach of the collective consultation requirements of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 (Jon secured the maximum award for two claimants following an appeal to the EAT)
- Reinstatement order in a case concerning allegations of gross misconduct
- Whistleblowing claim against a school
- Disability discrimination claim against a major local employer
Jon is also frequently engaged to advise employees on settlement agreements.
